| The Florida Association of Nonprofit Organizations (FANO) will hold its 19th Annual Conference "A Better Path: Bold Steps to Stronger Resources” on August 18-19, 2010 at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina co-hosted by Broward County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Florida’s expanded benefits, services and goods will be showcased at the FANO Nonprofit Resource Expo. The Expo is open to the public at no charge Wednesday, August 18 from 12-4pm. Followed by an opening reception with entertainment, refreshments and the Lawton’s Heart Humanitarian Award ceremony honoring the renowned Dr. Barth Green will be held from 5pm to 8pm. | Understanding and promoting energy conservation is now a hot issue within the construction industry. The push for more energy-efficient construction has led to new standards, certifications, guidelines, and specialized professionals. | We are fortunate to be having Michelle DeLora address the Roundtable. Ms DeLora is Chairman of US Green Building Council - Central FL chapter (USGBC-CF) and a registered Architect in Florida, with Burke Hogue Mills, Inc (BHM), as well as a LEED® Accredited Professional. She participates in the sustainable challenge by walking the walk with a newly Gold certified building as the company headquarters. As BHM’s sustainability expert, she leads the department of sustainable architecture and personally provides LEED Administration on a variety of projects. |
